My First Renaissance Fair
Planning for my first Renaissance Fair, I've only been waiting my whole life.
I've been obsessed with Fantasy since before I can remember. I grew up seeing the quirky main characters in books and film going to their closest Renaissance Fair and have _WISHED _I lived in a place that had one.
Well, at the big ole age of 34, just weeks shy of my 35th birthday, I'll be attending my very first, and I am OVERWHELMED. I'm so excited, but am 1. Feeling so much pressure to look LEGIT, but also cozy and warm for the October weather and 2. Wonder if there is any thing I'll be able to eat thats vegan.
I've looked for something to wear a few times and get either underwelmed by most of the options and overwhelmed by the prices of the things I actually like.
So let me know if I'm being overly ambitious by thinking I can make my own outfit?
I was pretty good when I learned to sew in middle and high school. _LOLLL _I also dusted off my sewing machine at the height of the pandemic when we had a mask shortage, so I think it doable?
Nothing too crazy, I just want a dress and corset with NICE material, and something unique that I won't see someone else wearing the same thing.
I'll be going with some bookish friends, and we're reading a book this month to discuss while were together, so I'm also behind on that, we voted and decided on Where the Dark Stands Still by A.B. Poranek. So I gotta get on that too, maybe I'll do the audio while I put this outfit together?
I'll keep you guys posted.
